Oh, don’t worry, I’ll get to Rain in a second.
First, let’s talk about suckers. You know, lollipops, DumDums, candy on a stick. In Breathing His Air, the heroine, Tori, loves grape suckers. If you follow me on Twitter—and you really should—you’ll know I have a serious sucker habit. The small DumDum suckers are the perfect size and they have mystery flavors, which means I have to eat the whole package to find the mystery stick. Lots of people have an oral fixation toward food. There’s gum chewers, hard candy poppers, TicTacs, cinnamon toothpicks, caramel squares, and the list goes on.
What’s your favorite food treat to pop in your mouth?
Ready to get to the sexy now? Good. Let me give you a few facts about Breathing His Air, and then show you a few lines from the book.
Rain is the president of the Bantorus Motorcycle Club. He’s bossy.
“Listen.” He backed away. “You might not have asked, but you stepped in my
territory, and I won’t let anything happen to any woman that’s here. I’m keeping you
safe. You call when you’re done working. I’ll walk you to the cabin. Every. Single. Time.
I’ll walk you to work again in the morning, and we’ll repeat it all over again. That’s the
“When are you going to understand?” He stopped at the top of the stairs and guided
her in front of him, wrapping his arms around her chest and walking her forward with his
body. “My woman doesn’t sleep on the couch. In the morning, I’m going to take my
woman to buy some pretty clothes that’ll drive me wild and put a smile on her face, and
if you go to bed like a good girl, I’ll see about kissing my woman in the morning after I
cuddle with her tonight.”
“We’ll talk later.” Rain cleared his throat, and gazed past her to Officer Corbin. “We
both know who’s threatening my woman. It’s one thing to come after me. That I can
handle in my own way, in my own time, but when he comes after someone who means
more to me than breathing air, then I take that personally, and I’ll kill the sonofabitch.
You hear me?”
And this is what you’re waiting for. He’s sexy!
He wore his old Levi’s and a black T-shirt, but it was the black chaps and a different
black vest with the Leather and Chains emblem on it, his tats peeking below his sleeves,
that got her juices flowing. She moved in, and he pulled her the rest of the way toward
“If I wasn’t running the party, babe, I’d have you on your back right now, and those
heels poking holes in the mattress.” He kissed her hard. “Later tonight, you’re mine.”
She moved her hand from his waist, around his side, and cupped his butt cheek. “As
long as you leave the chaps on, honey.”
“Yeah.” He grinned. “That’s my girl.”

When Debra was nineteen years old, a man kissed her without introducing himself. When they finally came up for air, the first words out of his mouth were…will you have my babies? Considering Debra’s weakness for a sexy, badass man, who is strong enough to survive her attitude, she said yes. A quick wedding at the House of Amour and four babies later, she’s living her own romance book.
